Cricket East

Following the Beds Youth League AGM, we were asked to circulate some suggestions on a U11 and U13 Girls league. Taking into accounts views expressed at the AGM and further discussions a draft set of rules is put forward below for comment. Please get any comments to Krish Narain by 17th December so they can be reflected in the final rules if the view is that we should go ahead with these new leagues.

Girls U11 and U13 leagues
Normal league rules will be followed e.g. wicket size, pitch length, wide rules, however the following exceptions will be in place

U11:

• Teams of 6 or 8 a-side as mutually agreed
• Pairs cricket as per normal U11 rules
• Soft incrediball
• Sides are encouraged to agree rules beforehand to encourage maximum participation
• No points are awarded and no official league table is created, although results can still be recorded on play cricket
• Games are scheduled for Monday, but can be played anyday in the following week by MUTUAL agreement
• Games can be played on the outfield as with under 9 cricket if required

U13:

• 8 a side, can be 10 by mutual agreement
• Pairs Cricket
• Hard ball may be used if mutually agreed, otherwise soft
• Games are scheduled for Monday, but can be played anyday in the following week by MUTUAL agreement
• Points to be awarded in line with normal league rule, with county final if required (played on development finals day)
