Congratulations to Alex Evans who enjoyed a successful championship debut for Leicestershire CCC against Northamptonshire this week finishing with match figures of 4 for 79. The Ampthill Town CC seamer has been on the Leicestershire Academy programme for the last two years and has impressed the Leicestershire coaching staff this season.

In a match that involved three ex Bedfordshire players, Evans managed to claim the scalp of former Northants captain and Ampthill batsman Alex Wakely. Rob Keogh, another Northamptinshire player with Bedfordshire ties, also put in a great 1st innings performance scoring 132 as Northants came out as winners to keep their promotion hopes alive.
