The three half-term Wicketz sessions at Gladstone and Focus Community Centres in Peterborough were a great success with over 50 excited children aged 8-14 years of all abilities taking part.
They participated in a mix of skills, drills and game-based scenarios which included bowling, catching, batting and fielding, fitness exercises, rules of the game and practice match situations.
Thanks to Paul Harris (Prevent Sergeant) and Jon Fone (Prevent Officer) from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit for Counter-Terrorism Policing, who also joined in the activities. Thanks also to Zahid Akbar, member of the City’s Interfaith Council who brought along 7 of his extended family of 21 nieces and nephews!
The kids were keen to come back for more and sessions for the February 2019 half-term are already booked! Further details will be posted HERE when they become available.
