It is with great sadness that we must share the news that Martin Smith, former Bedfordshire Young Cricketers Coach has passed away at the age of 62.

Martin worked across both the boys and girl's pathway in his time working for Bedfordshire Cricket and Cricket East and was instrumental in the growth of our girl's pathway in its early stages.

Martin had a huge depth of knowledge and understanding of cricket and was so passionate about sharing that with young players to improve their skills and enthuse a long-lasting love of the game.

ll of us at Cricket East would like to pass on our condolences to Martins wife Amanda, their three children Michael, Andrew and Katie, and his wider family and friends.

We thank Martin for all of his work over the years inspiring the next generation of young cricketers across Bedfordshire.
