Cricket East

Cricket East’s coaches – Shaftab Khalid (Head of Performance), Amran Malik (Luton Wicketz Development Officer), Phil Lewis (Women & Girls Officer) and Chris Gilthorpe (Hunts U13) – attended a Coach Development Session for our region on Monday 4 March which was held at Kent’s County Ground, Beckenham.

The session provided an opportunity to learn from Kevin Shine, National Lead Fast Bowling and Peter Such, National Lead Spin Bowling.

There was also an opportunity to meet coaches and Directors from 13 counties covering the London and East region. Also in attendance was Jon Lewis, Young Lions Head Coach Sussex Cricket, Simon Willis, ECB Regional Talent Manager and Mo Bobat, ECB Player Identification Lead.

Shaftab also met with David Graveney, former Chairman of the English Test Selectors, who had given him the opportunity for an England A tour to India in his earlier playing career.
