New sponsorship and partnerships
Following the recent announcement of the merger between St Ives and Warboys Cricket Club, the club has secured a sponsorship deal with Peterborough based firm BGL Group to sponsor its junior cricket coaches, a partnership deal with Barracudas Activity Day Camps and grant funding from the Warboys Community Association & Living Sport.
Martin Croucher, (Warboys Chairman), said “The coaches at St Ives and Warboys put in a huge amount of time and effort on a weekly basis to run training sessions and look after matches. Across the two grounds this means that around 200 children aged between four and sixteen have the opportunity to learn and play cricket in a safe environment. Our coaches give up two evenings every week during the cricket season, and I was keen to get recognition for them for all the hard work they put in.
“This sponsorship deal with BGL Group will enable us to kit out all our coaches with training tops and jackets and, as a thank you for all their hard work, have their annual playing membership fee paid for them. We will also be able to purchase additional training equipment that will enhance the training they are able to provide.”
Claire Virge, CSR & Sponsorship Manager commented: “We’re really proud to sponsor St Ives & Warboys Cricket Club. It’s great to see the positive impact sponsorship like this has on the local community and we’re looking forward to seeing the new training kits next year”.
This is not the only sponsorship deal that the club has received. Through a partnership deal with Barracudas Activity Day Camps, the club can not only purchase some much-needed additional equipment but will also save its members £5 per booking through Barracudas and earn £5 for the club.
It doesn’t end there though for the new club. Warboys Community Association have kindly provided the new club with a grant of £250 which will be put towards the training costs for new coaches and coaching assistants. This is in addition to £200 already received from Living Sport for the same purpose.
