Women’s Cricket Update
Clare Connor, ECB’s Managing Director Women’s Cricket recently issued an update regarding the ECB’s plans for the women’s game from 2020 onwards.
Clare said: “At the start of the year, the ECB published a new strategy for the game for 2020-2024, entitled “Inspiring Generations”. Within this strategy, there is a stronger focus than ever before on the women’s and girls’ game, from grassroots to performance. Amongst other initiatives, focus will be on:
“The ECB Board have signed off an initial investment of £20m across these 4 objectives for 2020 and 2021 with a view to further investment at a similar level beyond 2021.”
The ECB is in the process of consulting with counties and sharing some of the thinking behind their plans. Further updates will follow.
