Volunteering in cricket is hugely rewarding. Whether you are just starting out, or having been volunteering for years, here you can find all the support and information you need.
Volunteers make a huge difference to the provision and quality of cricket in the East. Cricket East is committed to recruiting and retaining volunteers to ensure the long-term sustainability of clubs and organisations.
Even for those who don't want to play the game, there are many opportunities to get involved within the game, including the following roles:
- Coach
- Umpire
- Scorer
- Caterer & Bar Manager
- Team Manager
- Groundsman
- Treasurer
- Chairman
- Welfare Officer
- Website Administrators
- Press Officers and many more ways to support your club!!
A great way to get more volunteers within your club is to simply ask your club membership!
However, it is not always easy to know what to say when seeking more help to run your club. To help with this, you'll see at the bottom of this page some 'role description' templates that you can download and send across your club. This will give anyone thinking of helping a better idea of what it is expected of them.
The ECB's volunteering website can be viewed HERE. You can access a whole new range of information which can be used to support the recruitment and retention of volunteers within clubs or if you're an existing club volunteer you can find ways to help inspire and celebrate achievements of volunteers across local cricket clubs.
