An ECB Certificate in Coaching Children’s Cricket (Level 2) course started in Luton in October 2018, developed in conjunction with Luton’s Core City Programme and specifically designed to build a wider workforce to support the growth of the game in the town. Alongside this course was a Coach Support Worker course which enables participants to support a coaching session.
To date, 11 Coach Support Workers and 8 Level 2 Cricket Coaches have been trained and deployed in Luton to deliver Cricket. Of those 8 Level 2 coaches, 3 are female coaches, who are inspiring young girls to participate in cricket and to demonstrate cricket is for everyone in Luton.
Cricket East run many projects and therefore there are many opportunities for our newly qualified coaches to put their skills to use. Programmes across Luton include, Wicketz, Chance to Shine - Schools and Street, All Stars Cricket and Luton Ladies Cricket team.
If you are interested in coaching cricket within Luton, please get in contact with Brad Matthews who will be able to give you more information.
