The Lord’s Taverners Wicketz Programme, delivered in partnership with Cricket East, has set up year-round community-based cricket clubs in Luton known as Wicketz Hubs.
They are aimed at giving disadvantaged children aged 8-15 an opportunity to not only play cricket but to improve their health and well-being, leading to better lifestyles and the ability to contribute more to their community.
There are also working with partners to deliver workshops to the children on a variety of different issues.

"Wicketz is really important for Luton and the young people who are part of it. Too many sports programmes start and then just disappear. Wicketz, through its funding from the Lord's Taverners, is here to stay, providing the opportunity for consistent play all year for our children. My son looks forward to every session and I am full of praise for it." Parent and volunteer coach
"I feel like I have really achieved something now I am a qualified to help. I had only been playing cricket for 7 months when I started helping out with coaching at all three hubs. I do taster sessions in schools and have played in the adult teams as well. I am now working with the police - out doing talks at universities and schools about how to keep out of trouble and stay on the right path." Abdus Salaam, player turned volunteer (16)
